USA/1996/114 mins/12A. Dir: Rob Cohen. With Sylvester Stallone, Viggo Mortensen.
Bad Film Club founders Nicko and Joe provide live DVD-style commentary to this 1996 Sly Stallone offering — a disaster movie in more ways than one. Explosions collapse both ends of New York’s Holland Tunnel, with the usual assortment of character actors in the middle and only one man (guess who) who can help them get to safety. Described by one critic as an action movie without the action, and by another as having more cracks in it than the collapsing tunnel, Daylight is a riot of clichéd situations and cheesy dialogue.
"You know something is wrong when Stallone actually gives one of the best performances in the picture." - Mr Brown's Movies
