It’s almost April 2008 and already we’re forging ahead with Chapter’s redevelopment plans. The builders have been on site for a few months now but it’s still very much business as usual.

June • 2008 • Mehefin

It’s not until early June that the big changes start to happen. Literally overnight we’ll up sticks and move the café and the bar over to our adjacent Stiwdio space. The box office and shop will also relocate to the east wing and we’ll start using our temporary new entrance. Both Cinemas will operate as normal during evenings and weekends. Weekday matinees will stop but we’ll add in extra daytime screenings on the weekend. Theatre continues as normal until November. Our main gallery programme moves off-site with our Art in the Bar Programme moving to the Stiwdio.

July • 2008 • Gorffennaf

We’ll start work transforming Cinema 1 into the best place to see a film in Cardiff. Screenings will continue in Cinema 2.

August • 2008 • Awst

Cinema 1 reopens and we start work on Cinema 2. Our smaller screen has a loyal following but won’t it be fantastic to watch the best independent and world films in the most comfortable seats with great sound and screen quality. Works continues on the café, bar, concourse and gallery.

November • 2008 • Tachwedd

Our Theatre Programme moves off-site. We open a totally refurbished Cinema 2.

December 2008 – March 2009 • Rhagfyr 2008 – Mawrth 2009

Work continues including creating a glamorous new theatre foyer and opening up the entrances and frontage. So by this time next year the countdown will be complete and we’ll be gearing up to a relaunch programme of events.
