Fri 16 — Thu 22 May Gwe 16 — Iau 22 Mai
UK/2007/107 mins/18. Dir: Martin McDonagh. With Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Ralph Fiennes.
Sexy Beast meets Pulp Fiction, Mike Leigh meets Guy Ritchie in this tale of two foul-mouthed Irish hitmen holed up in Bruges after a botched job. With its distinctly non-PC sense of humour this is a provocative, original take on the British gangster genre. But as well as the immediate pleasures of bruisingly funny dialogue and fine performances this is a surprisingly thoughtful film that leaves you with plenty to mull over.
