Winner of the children's poetry competition, responding to the Assembly: Art in the Bar exhibition by Dragana Jurisic

The Falling Down Castle by Rowan Aufrichtig
The falling down castle Was in a great hassle His walls kept falling At first he thought it was very appalling But then he looked for someone to blame. The first person was a Dame Who he called a rude name, But the Dame was clever and shot him with a bowawow. She did a good aim. So he ran off with a man called Mr Milly Who was very silly And ran away to the bay. So the castle went to someone who wasn’t a man or a lady, It was a cat called Mr Fish Who always had a nice dish. After he picked on him, 3 of them had a plan That would teach him a lesson. After they told him the lesson He realised what he had done And said he would never do it again.

As part of our Assembly programme we produce children’s packs relating to the exhibition, which we hope will encourage children to look at and think about art. For each exhibition, we invite children to make a creative response: either a drawing, or a story or poem inspired by one of the works. The winning entry is published on the website and the winner receives a prize selected from The Shop to coincide with each exhibition.
Entry forms will be included in the packs and can be submitted to The Shop. For more information contact the visual arts team on visual.arts@chapter.org or call 029 2031 1050.
