Capitalising on the strengths of their long-term collaboration, award–winning choreographer Tanja Råman and visual/sound artist John Collingswood (dbini industries) have created their most adventurous production to date. For traces, Tanja and John have joined forces with sound artist Jon Ruddick from the S.A.A.B Collective to explore the notion of memory. How do we determine what is to become a memory or to be forgotten over time? Is it possible to choose a moment to preserve forever? To what extent are our memories manipulated by the way we wish to remember them?
In this beautifully crafted, dark and thrilling performance, Tanja combines smoothly flowing movement, sudden dynamic changes and highly athletic expression. The hypnotic electronic soundtrack is created by the manipulation of sounds generated by the performers, while video projection, drawing and live photography capture fleeting memories of the choreography and sonic environment.
