When Elsa Valentin spots a little girl at her son’s school who she believes is the daughter she lost in a hospital fire 6 years ago, she takes the only possible course of action she can — to get her back. Nebbour deftly handles this tense thriller, as Elsa’s initially inscrutable behaviour becomes increasingly disturbing, and when the child’s mother confronts Elsa this in turn brings deeply buried secrets to the surface.
