In 1974, the most celebrated American R&B acts of the time came together with the most renowned musical groups of Southern Africa for a concert in Zaire. Boxing promoter Don King combined the event with ‘The Rumble In The Jungle’ epic fight between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman. Soul Power brings together footage of the experiences and performances of such luminaries as James Brown, BB King, Bill Withers and Celia Cruz as they return to their musical heritage.
