Stage Fright is played out on the stage set of an abandoned dressing room. The actor is absent but his props remain; a plastic apple, a plastic knife, a regency figurine, a prop gun, a regency wig, a plastic mouse, and a balloon amongst other things. Seemingly automated, the set becomes a machine for the performance of a series of ill conceived conjuring tricks.
Part of a series of works addressing questions of materiality and object agency, Stage Fright seeks to foreground the presence of the familiar yet strangely haunted thing.
Contains sudden and (un)expected explosions.
