"Homeland, body, little soul, speak!"
A little girl falls asleep and in her dreams goes on a magical journey to a world beneath her feet.
Inspired by Alice in Wonderland and the story of Love and Psyche in The Golden Ass by Apuleius this mythical tale of love and travel is full of sounds, noises and strange animals with an intricately vocalised sung and spoken text.
This large-scale performance, on the monumental stage of the Memorial Hall Theatre in Barry combines electronic music with Gregorian chants, rich imagery and stunning lighting. Requiem is an experiment in musical theatre, conceived as a contemporary grand opera, whilst remaining a striking theatrical performance figured on the mythic, illusionary act of the creating of theatrical worlds.
Fanny & Alexander’s Romeo & Juliet – et ultra was a dark, complex work of beauty and catharsis that played at Chapter last year. Their work continues to be highly innovative in its use of classical dramatic structures to give form to a distinctly personal and contemporary voice.
