Welcome to the 6^th Cardiff Latino Film Festival. Once again we have a vibrant selection of feature films from Latin America, including a UK premiere of the Venezuelan film Postales de Leningrado, which has already won two festival Awards and three nominations.

This year’s festival will pay a special tribute to Alejandro Jodorowsky, Chilean film director, writer, actor, mime artist, tarot reader and psychotherapist, who will soon be celebrating his 80^th birthday. We will be screening his film Santa Sangre, which blends arthouse, surrealist and cult themes, and is one of the classics of world cinema.

For the first time, the festival will award the Tony Whitehead Award to the best film, so pick up a voting slip and let us know your favourite. One of our aims is to promote films from Latin America to raise interest from film distributors and television channels in the UK. Cardiff Latino also strives to bring awareness of the richness and diversity of the Latin American culture through films to the people of Wales and beyond.
