Art in the Bar
Bracey takes everyday materials and turns them into abstract paintings. In this case he paints tiny scenes or objects, such as Union Jacks and smiley faces, onto the heads of roofing nails.
Every nail has a novel and exciting picture allowing the viewer to discover something different with every glance. "They can be viewed as a load of nails," Bracey explains "individually as separate paintings or on mass as a big dot painting."
In these paintings Bracey plays with the idea of British-ness using comic references, which seem to cause a controlled randomness. The paintings pulsate with vibrant colour, accenting the detail within each of the nail heads.
