Sew-Your-Own Weather Inspired Cushion Sunday 13 January, 10.30-2.30pm
Brighten up the days with weather inspired cushions! It may be the middle of winter but there’ll be a riot of colourful fabrics at this kid’s workshop. The session mixes up hand sewing techniques using bright threads and buttons as well as developing machine sewing techniques. Everyone will leave with a bespoke (and comfy!), handmade cushion to snuggle up to.
Sew-Your-Own Vest Top Sunday 10 February, 10.30-2.30pm
Being able to make your own clothes or adapt shop bought ones is a great skill to develop whatever your age. Following a simple pattern this step by step class is great for those interested in making items to wear, and this one is that simple, kids can make these over and over again. As usual, students are encouraged to bring any pieces of fabric or old clothes they’d like to epicycle in this session.
Sew-Your-Own Plushie Rabbit Sunday 10 March, 10.30-2.30pm
Super Bunny Plushie- Bringing fabric to life! This Sunday is all about using hand sewing and machine to make a floppy-eared, super soft rabbit. Let your imagination run riot, become more familiar with tactile fabric and learn how to stitch faces and expressions through simple techniques.
Sew-Your-Own Holiday Survival Kit Sunday 7 April, 10.30-2.30pm
With the Easter Holidays coming up, we’ll be working on getting everyone organised making glasses/sunglasses cases and matching mini tote bags. A machine led session, it’s all about layering and looking at colour combinations to get you Summer ready.
No previous sewing experience necessary; the emphasis is on building your creative skills and gaining confidence in craft.
Cost: £22.50 per workshop, £80 for all four
Light refreshments and all materials provided. Packed lunch required.
Suitable for boys and girls aged 8- 14.
