An innovative and challenging project which celebrates a true collaboration between the Arts world and the homeless community.
Christmas is a time when most of us like to take time away from work. It's a period when we can spend time with family and friends; a period when we enjoy doing things together. But not everyone has that privilege.
The Chimes is a new piece of music theatre which has been adapted from the second Christmas story by Charles Dickens and created in response to the subject which lies at the heart of Dickens's tale: a society which looks down on people for being poor and penalises them for it, is not a society to be proud of.
But this project is far greater than just a production; it will be a very real and practical bridge between the Arts world and the homeless community. Through a series of workshops and rehearsals this project will help service users at homeless shelters in Cardiff and London to rebuild their confidence and invest in their future before having the opportunity to join the professional cast.
And this is where you can help; we’re looking for donations which will contribute towards space for the workshop and rehearsal phase of the project. We’re asking for your support towards a project that not only shines a light on homelessness but will offer an experience which makes service users feel valued, safe and gives them hope.
Donate now and be sure to follow our journey to see what you helped make happen.
