Chapter closes with immediate effect

In light of the ongoing situation the United Kingdom faces with Covid-19 and in line with medical advice, Chapter is closing with immediate effect until 19th April 2020, at the earliest.

This has been a very difficult decision to make but the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic is now at heightened levels and the health and safety of our audiences, customers, staff, volunteers, performers, artists and tenants is our number one priority. We believe that to temporarily close to the public is the best decision based on current advice.

Chapter COVID-19 update

On Monday morning (16 March), Chapter established a plan to remain open for the foreseeable future with precautions in place to help protect the health and well-being of its visitors and staff. We intended to operate on a reduced level of activity, with reduced capacities in our auditoria and communal spaces. However, yesterday’s announcement by the HM Government means this plan is already obsolete.

Today we are open as scheduled. However, this evening, a meeting will take place with the board of Chapter and further updates will follow for staff and customers as soon as possible. Please check Chapter’s website or social media channels for the latest news and updates.

We thank you for your patience, understanding and support.

CANCELLED: Mel Brimfield Preview

Owing to the Covid-19 crisis and Chapter’s commitment to protecting the health and well-being of its supporters, we have taken the decision to cancel the preview of Mel Brimfield’s exhibition on Friday 20th March. As it stands currently, Chapter’s Gallery will be open as usual from Saturday 21st March so the new exhibition will be available to view from then.

COVID-19 update from Chapter

We are actively monitoring and following advice from Government and Public Health Wales about the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19). Based on the latest advice, we’re staying open and operating as scheduled as it is considered safe to attend cultural events.

We’re asking everyone visiting or working in the building to stay aware of the latest advice from Government on Coronavirus and to follow that advice to minimise the risk of the virus spreading.

At Chapter we are undertaking extra cleaning across our community spaces and ensuring surfaces are wiped down regularly.

Thank you for your support and co-operation.
