Leaning Into the Wind (PG)

UK/2017/97mins/PG Dir: Thomas Riedelsheimer

A captivating documentary about sculptural land artist Andy Goldsworthy, reflecting on his early influences in Morecombe to his modern exploration of his practice exploring the world and himself through ephemeral and permanent workings on the landscape, cities and his own body. Accompanied by a special jazz score by Fred Frith, the film takes us right up to present day as he works with his daughter Holly Goldsworthy creating thrilling new works.

"Riedelsheimer also has an artist's eye and approach, so this is less a recording of Goldsworthy than a dialogue between his work and that of the filmmaker… leaves room for more abstract contemplation by the viewer, a welcome, peaceful place from which to consider our place in the wider world"
