Chapter Voices: Alice Burrows

Posted on: 02 Nov 2015 by Alice Burrows

The leaves are changing colour, rain is battering the windows, the heating is officially on and Chapter is busy, busy, busy with theatre, dance, music, film, art of every kind filling every nook and cranny of this beautiful building… Autumn has officially arrived!

I’ve been asked to pick out my highlights of this coming season which is much harder than it sounds as there is so much to choose from, but I’ll try. Experimentica, first and foremost, is going to be an absolute delight. Artists from around the world and close to home will be presenting challenging and experimental work over the five day festival all around the idea of presenting new versions of the truth.

We do love a festival here at Chapter so once Experimentica is done for another year we are straight into the Cardiff Dance Festival featuring the talents of Dana Michel, Jan Martens and Joanna Young to name only a few. Being a member of the theatre programme team, I am thrilled that Chapter is a host venue for the festival along with Wales Millennium Centre and the Dance House.

I am not ashamed to say my favourite time of the year is Christmas so I can’t leave this post without mentioning that wonderful time. Everyman theatre kick off the festive season with Season’s Greetings, we have our annual Festive Food Fair in the café and Dirty Protest will be putting on their Christmas Songbook with new play inspired by your favourite Christmas musical hits.
