Chapter spread its wings across Cardiff through the opening of Caffi Sïo one year ago, and to celebrate Sïo’s 1st birthday, the café bar in the Bay has launched a new summer menu which includes takeaway options.
As one of Wales' leading contemporary arts centres, Chapter is famous for its culture and its café. Thanks to initial investment from WCVA’s Social Business Growth Fund, the new café bar in the Craft in the Bay building has brought the very best of its food and drink offer in a unique atmosphere in Cardiff Bay to a wider audience. As well as quality local produce, the finest coffee and food to satisfy all palates, Caffi Sïo is known for independent, Welsh, artisan excellence. Head Chef at Chapter Caffi Bar and Caffi Sïo, said:
"What our customers appreciate the most about Caffi Sïo is our tasty food, friendly staff, good value for the price, local and fresh ingredients and not to mention our popular afternoon teas with bottomless prosecco. People are coming back and choosing Sïo as a place to celebrate their important life events which fills us with responsibility to do even better and be creative in hospitality offers.”
Located in the lively Cardiff Bay, Sïo, a Welsh translation for ‘buzzing like a bee’, is popular among people working in the bay, tourists, locals and visitors to Craft in the Bay. Kate adds:
“To come even closer to our customers our new summer offer brings takeaway options. Every day we are preparing fresh meals, such as the Sïo Granola Pot, Sïo Fruit salad, Sïo Layered salad, Sïo Chicken Caesar salad, Sïo Superfood salad, Sïo’s famous salad box, Alex Gooch filled rolls, and Sïo Burrito.”
Although the Bay is a renowned foodie hotspot, what sets Caffi Sïo apart from many other chain restaurants on offer is that it is one of only a few independently-owned eateries in the Bay. It also offers a ‘side order of culture’ stocking leading publications in the arts including photography, architecture, contemporary art and more and presenting small scale live performances.
