Cardiff Without Culture: Supporting Chapter
Posted on: 27 Jan 2016
Here at Chapter we strongly believe that the arts should continue to receive public funding. But we also recognise that a healthy mix of public and private support is the smartest way to create a vibrant, accessible and sustainable programme of activities.
Support from individuals is Chapter’s main source of income. Whether through donations, ticket sales, purchases made from our Caffi-Bar or through Friends membership fees – these are all ways that individuals such as you are helping to support Chapter and it is a very public demonstration of how important Chapter is to so many people in so many different ways.
This is only going to become more of a challenge. With further public funding cuts likely we are asking each and every person to consider supporting that little bit more. It could be through a donation (simply text CHAP16 and the amount you wish to donate to 70070 or visit www.chapter.org/donate-now and don’t forget to add Gift Aid!), through the purchase of a Friends membership www.chapter.org/chapter-friends or simply by buying that extra coffee the next time you visit.
In case you needed any extra encouragement did you know, for instance, that the Art Car Bootique in 2015 was solely funded by income made from Friends memberships? And donations from individuals was the main source of support for our most recent Animation Autism course benefitting over 60 young people? These are very real and important examples of the work that we can do with your support.
