Chapter delighted by double win at Cardiff Life Awards 2016

Posted on: 23 Mar 2016

On Thursday 17 March, City Hall provided the setting for the annual Cardiff Life Awards, which celebrate the diverse range of businesses, organisations and ventures which make Cardiff the exciting capital city it is today. Chapter was shortlisted in three categories: Watering Hole, Café/Coffee Shop and Arts.

We were delighted to win the Arts Award, from a shortlist of eight excellent organisations, and received a second, surprise honour, in the form of the brand new Platinum Award – which is given to an overall winner.

The judges were unanimous in their praise for Chapter, and on rewarding the Arts Award, said:

“Chapter is a truly superb, diverse arts centre that embraces a wide range of creativity. It’s highly inclusive and usually busy. An absolute gem!”

We were chosen as recipients of the Platinum Award due to the valuable contribution we make to the community and the wider city, with the judges saying:

“Chapter is the deserved winner of the Platinum Award as the strongest category winner. Blending high quality, wide range and impressive inclusivity, it embodies the spirit of Cardiff and has a huge impact in the city.”

Andy Eagle, director of Chapter said:

“This award is only made possible through the work of the many artists and organisations with whom we collaborate and who work all year round to develop and deliver a world-class arts programme at Chapter. It’s great to see culture so highly valued and we would like to thank the judges, and the wider team at Cardiff Life, for all of their support."
