We are delighted that Elin Wyn, Chair of Chapter’s Board of Trustees has been recognised with the award for Director in a Social Enterprise or Charity at the Institute of Directors’ Wales Director of the Year Awards 2016 held at Cardiff’s SSE SWALEC, on Friday 20 May.
Elin was appointed as Chair of the Chapter Board in October 2015, having joined the Board in 2007. Born and raised in Cardiff, Elin had enjoyed visiting Chapter since the early 1980s, and had long been an admirer of the centre.
Her expertise lie in media, journalism and communication and her experience has seen her working for the BBC, the Welsh Assembly and the Welsh Language Board. She also supports numerous organisations with media and journalism training through her own consultancy firm which she established 10 years ago. Today Elin is also a business lecturer at Cardiff Metropolitan University and at the University of South Wales.
As an active supporter of the Welsh language Elin has worked hard over the past nine years to secure the development of Chapter’s bilingual identity, the programming of Welsh language productions and securing more Welsh language activities in the centre. Since her appointment as Chair of the Chapter Board, Elin has been eager to help develop the education strategy, and wants to find innovative ways of utilising the skills set of the staff to share good practice the length and breadth of Wales.
Please join us in congratulating Elin!
