Guest Performer Wanted
Posted on: 11 Jan 2018
The Absolute Truth About Absolutely Everything is a show about a crisis of masculinity, performed by a different female performer each night
Olly Hawes created the show with the collaboration of over twenty other brilliant makers. It was developed at Arcola and Camden People’s Theatre in 2015, and premiered at the Calm Down, Dear festivals at Camden People’s Theatre in London and the Bikeshed in Exeter ahead of a tour.
We're looking for a guest performer for the show at Chapter on 22nd February 2018.
The performer will read lines, follow stage directions and do a little bit of improvisation - we’re looking for female performers with excellent sight reading skills, who are happy to play and will courageously embrace the unpredictableness of live performance.
The play explores the ethics and politics of a woman performing a show written by a male writer, and contains some explicit content that some people may find uncomfortable. The performer will receive a full briefing with me before the show, and a debrief after, and they are free to decide not to read or perform any section of the script. There will be an opportunity for a further discussion of this before you commit to performing in the show.
This is a paid opportunity, and a chance to be part of a live performance at Chapter and the conversations each create in a unique way.
If you’re interested, or know people who might be, please contact the show’s producer on the email below.
