Have your say on Cardiff Council’s 2016/17 Budget Proposals

Posted on: 08 Jan 2016

Chapter is proud to have been part of Cardiff’s rich cultural tapestry for over 40 years. We believe the provision of a diverse range of arts and cultural experiences for this city's citizens helps to create a place where we all want to live, work and play. Cardiff Council is proposing to reduce its funding for the arts and culture by more than £700,00, through a package of measures that include cutting their funding of internationally renowned arts programmes such Cardiff Singer of the World, Artes Mundi, Cardiff Contemporary as well as the removal of £430,00 from Arts Venues across the City. They also propose removing the £68,000 arts grants budget for organisations and withdrawing funding from Arts Active who deliver St David's Hall outreach and education programme.
It's not too late to have your say before the consultation process ends on the 11th of January.
