Films showing 20 August – 2 September

We’re delighted to bring you a great fortnight of Welsh film, with feature debuts from two very different Welsh directors in Prano Bailey Bond’s kaleidoscopic horror Censor and Ryan Andrew Hooper’s comedy-thriller The Toll. Wales reaches out to the world in Cardiff Animation Festival’s collaboration with animators from all over Africa.

Our Summer of Music continues with the dynamic documentary Poly Styrene: I Am A Cliché and another chance to see the hauntingly beautiful Limbo. Don’t miss Nic Cage in what may be his greatest performance in the quietly profound Pig.

Finally, in celebration of our big birthday, we open our season of films looking at the past 50 years with The Last Picture Show, which demonstrates that to create something vibrant and new you must take a look back and celebrate the past.
