National Lottery funded attractions say #ThanksToYou for 25 years of support
We’re saying #ThanksToYou to National Lottery players with a limited special offer of 25% discount on memberships.
The offer will be available from 23 November – 1 December when you present any National Lottery ticket at our box office.
We are one of hundreds of National Lottery funded venues and visitor attractions across the UK saying #ThanksToYou to people who have raised money for good causes by buying a lottery ticket.
More than £40 billion has been raised for good causes by players over the past 25 years in the areas of arts, sport, heritage and community.
Use any National Lottery ticket – old or new - to receive a special offer at Chapter and other lottery funded projects across the UK. Visit www.thankstoyou.org.uk to find the full list.
Over the last 10 years Chapter has received just over £800,000 from The National Lottery which has contributed towards a range of projects; from the creation of new community spaces inside the building, to supporting our Art Car Bootique festival which benefits over 10,000 local arts and craft suppliers and members of the community each year. Lottery funding has helped to create Peilot, an innovative scheme designed to invest ongoing support for early career artists and companies, and has provided regular support for Experimentica, Chapter’s annual live art festival and the only one of its kind in Wales. Lottery funding also paid for the creation of the Chapter community garden in 2011, which received funding after a public campaign and a week of public voting on ITV.
Ros Kerslake, Chief Executive of the National Lottery Heritage Fund, said: “This year the National Lottery turns 25, and what better way to say thank you than offering special offers at some of the places that players have helped fund. It’s not only our wonderful heritage sites that are offering thanks - we also have free entry and special offers at National Lottery funded arts, sports and community attractions - all the places that make the UK such a great place to live.”
Elaina Johnson, Director of External Relations at Chapter said: "Funding from The National Lottery has enabled us to carry out projects which, over the years, has benefitted many different communities who inhabit Chapter on a daily basis. From our local gardening group and the variety of community groups who use Chapter, to artists who rely on the support from the venue – all have directly benefitted from Lottery funding which has helped to create safe community spaces and support which has allowed them to develop their reach and ambition. That’s why we are offering discount on memberships to people who visit with National Lottery ticket - it’s a way of saying thank you to the people have helped fund us.”
The promotion is part of The National Lottery’s 25th Birthday celebrations, running for a five-week period (from 14 October until 6 December). There are some incredible activities planned across the UK to celebrate the good causes that have been made possible thanks to National Lottery players over the last 25 years.
