New Artist Commission Opportunities Posted on 30 Sep 2020

We are inviting applications from artist-practitioners – from any artform including visual, performance, music, writing, film, dance – to develop a creative response to the themes and ideas in our new exhibition, ‘From This World, To That Which Is To Come’ by artist Mel Brimfield.

The exhibition is visually and conceptually rich, and touches on issues that will resonate with so many, particularly during these extraordinary times.

We hope that this commission will offer additional points of entry to, and interpretations of, the exhibition and enable deeper audience engagement with the content.

FEE: £1,000

WHO CAN APPLY: Welsh or Wales based artists at any stage of their career, with a passion for arts and health.

DEADLINE: Midnight, Monday 19th October

In partnership with Cardiff Council, we're looking to commission an artist from Cardiff to create a unique road crossing for Cowbridge Road East in Canton.

The project is part of a range of improvements being undertaken by Cardiff Council, and the selected artwork is intended to be both a bold and vibrant addition to the location, and to provide a safe place for people to cross the busy area.

We will shortlist three artists to develop a design proposal. Each will be expected to pay particular attention to the local culture, history and architecture of Canton and we will support them to develop their ideas in-line with the brief from Cardiff Council.

The design that will be taken forward to completion will be chosen by the residents of Canton via public consultation.

FEE: All three shortlisted artists will receive a £500 fee in respect of their work

WHO CAN APPLY: Artists who are based in Cardiff

DEADLINE: Wednesday 14 October, 5pm.
