UPROAR Wales New Music Ensemble return to Chapter Posted on 05 Feb 2020

UPROAR Wales New Music Ensemble return to Chapter

Following UPROAR’s inaugural sell-out performance of 10x10 in October 2018, their second project, Professor Bad Trip, will be performed at Chapter on 28 February 2020.

Returning with a new programme for Professor Bad Trip, UPROAR’s new music specialist musicians will present world premieres of three commissions of music created for large ensemble and live electronics by three contemporary Welsh composers - each at a different stage in their careers - along with Welsh premieres of three works by three outstanding international composers.

There will be a pre-performance talk hosted by composer, writer and critic Steph Power.

UPROAR embraces all areas which involve contemporary classical music. As a mature, well-honed group of musicians with a great passion for music, and embodying all the considerable skills necessary to perform contemporary music, it is ideally placed to fulfil this role in Wales. At this time there is no group in Wales performing on this scale at this level or with this commitment and such an ensemble is indispensable for the development of new music in countries worldwide.
