GODOT at Chapter

Sunday 9th December, 6:30pm

GODOT are a trio playing dance music for “Eurobal” dances – that is dances from across northern Europe from Portugal to Scandinavia.  We mainly play a mixture of Breton, French and Swedish music, on Accordion, Fiddle and Recorders/Cello. Many of the tunes are also songs, with a call / response form that allows the dancers to join in as they dance. The dances are very easy to pick up and include a mixture of couple dances in hold( Waltz – very much like the ballroom Viennese waltz, Mazurka, and  Schottiche), simple formation dances a bit like Twmpathau, and dances in line familiar to all those who have been on holiday to Brittany. The tunes are catchy and the dances are easy to join in with. The whole idea is to have fun and a really good time!

The band are all part of the Pentreffest organisation that runs regular monthly classes and dances at St Fagans Village Hall and an annual festival at Rudry.

You can find out more at www.pentreffest.org.uk.

We want everyone to join in and we will be encouraging some of our regular dances to come along to lead some of the dances.
