Cardiff Print Workshop - Print Workshop

Cardiff Print Workshop is an open access printmaking workshop run by artists, for artists.

We at CPW want Artists/ Printmakers to develop their own technical skills and artistic practices whilst also exhibiting and promoting their work as part of a group. CPW is a valuable resource for graduates who otherwise may be unable to continue printmaking.

Cardiff Print Workshop was first set up with ‘AADW’ (Artists and Designers in Wales) at its original site on Tyndall Street, which was run for a number of years, where it stayed until 1990. The workshop then moved as it was in the Cardiff Bay Development area and had to be closed. CPW moved premises under the workshop members' own steam to the Howardian Adult Education Centre in 1991 where it has been ever since. It was then that the print classes started and were run by members. The print classes are still being run today.

In December 2011 CPW expanded and began renting an additional space from Chapter. Here we run additional classes, printmaking masterclasses and are able to offer a showing space for our members to showcase their work.
