Diffusion: Cardiff International Festival of Photography
Chapter is delighted to be a festival partner in Diffusion - a new biennial international photography festival that features exhibitions, performances, events and celebrations in physical and virtual spaces.
The festival will see exhibitions and installations across Cardiff in both new spaces and existing venues including Chapter, Ffotogallery, National Museum Cardiff, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, g39, St David’s Hall, The Cardiff Story and the Norwegian Church.
Alongside international names, Diffusion will showcase Welsh talent. The 2013 festival programme includes internationally acclaimed contemporary artists such as Maurizio Anzeri, Edgar Martins, f&d cartier, Helen Sear, Tim Davies and Gideon Koppel, and important work made in Wales by renowned photographers such as David Bailey, Peter Fraser, and Philip Jones-Griffiths. A special project ‘European Chronicles’ will feature a new generation of photographic artists from both Wales and places as far afield as Lithuania, Poland, Italy, France, Germany and Norway.
There are opportunities for creative participation for people of all ages, including artist talks and workshops, a PhotoMarathon, an independent Publishing Weekend at Chapter, schools’ programmes and photographic rambles around the city. The Diffusion website is an exciting interactive platform enabling visitors to Cardiff and others around the world to join in the festival activities.
Diffusion is a Ffotogallery initiative, in association with festival partners in Wales and internationally.
