CROESO to the Cardiff Animation Weekender 2025! We can’t wait to share this vibrant, hybrid programme of animated nostalgia, deep cuts, cult classics, and brand new gems that will stick with you forever.
Whether you grew up watching Saturday matinees, fuzzy VHS tapes from the corner shop or weird flash cartoons online, join us for a rare chance to see animation gold back on the big screen, and discover your new favourites.
We aim for the Cardiff Animation Weekender to be a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone. If you don’t know anyone attending, our friendly team and volunteers are always happy to chat!
All our screenings are subtitled and all talks and Q+As BSL interpreted.
Missed something you wanted to see? No problem. From 17 May – 1 June, you can watch festival shorts and recorded events online from home.
Enjoy the films, join in with the discussions, take time to reconnect, meet new friends, create and have fun at Cardiff Animation Weekender. We hope it will kindle connections, spark joy, inspire your creativity, and wrap you in a warm nostalgic CAF hug.
