Welcome back to Chapter, home to two cinemas, a gallery, two theatres, an award-winning café bar, artists’ studios and a host of varied spaces that are available to hire for classes, workshops, rehearsals and meetings.
Access is via Market Place through the front doors only. Our building is fully accessible and there’s plenty of parking spaces for blue badge holders in our front and rear car parks. Parking is free.
Our building is on two floors and there’s a lift to take you to the first floor if you’re unable to use the stairs.
On our ground floor we have three wheelchair accessible toilets including one that provides sufficient space and equipment for visitors who are not able to use the toilet independently. We have brand new, all-gender toilets in our café bar and single-gender toilets along our cinema corridor. Upstairs we have one wheelchair accessible toilet and plenty of single-gender toilets. Our accessible toilets all have baby change facilities.
ARRIVING AT CHAPTER
To help us to keep everyone safe, please wear a face covering and sanitise your hands when you arrive.
Our staff will greet you at reception where you must also register for Track and Trace. You can do this using the NHS app or we will also be taking details manually for those who don’t have a smart device or don’t wish to use the app.
We have two reception desks: one for our café bar which is straight ahead of you when you enter; and one for tickets, information and hires which is to the left as you enter.
There’s plenty of signage to find your way around and our staff are here to help you. You can identify them by their black, branded shirts or hoodies.
We’ve reduced capacity throughout our building and have introduced an enhanced cleaning regime. Our staff are all wearing PPE and have had up-to-date training in all health and safety measures.
If you’re visiting our café bar please book in advance. You can do this online here. You can also book by calling 029 2035 5664. Please arrive at your allocated time to help us to avoid queues at reception.
We are also able to seat walk-ups, but as capacity is limited we can’t always guarantee availability.
A member of staff will greet you, ask you for your booking details and then take you to your allocated table.
You can order from your table by following the simple instructions provided. There’s a QR code on each table that takes
you to our food and drink menus. You can order and pay via your phone or digital device, and you don’t need to download an app. If you don’t have a smart device a member of our team can take your order at the table. We can take cash payments but please use contactless payment where possible. All food and drink will be served to your table.
You can also get food and drink to take away. When you arrive, let our staff know and they they’ll guide you to the takeaway area and show you where to wait for collection. Please use contactless payment where possible.
If you’re visiting the gallery, there’s no need to book, and entrance is free. We’ve reduced capacity so please wait at the entrance on arrival. A member of our team will be there to welcome you and show you in.
We’ve introduced an enhanced cleaning regime in the gallery so any areas that are touch points (eg headphones or seating) are sanitised thoroughly between visitors.
We won’t be printing information sheets anymore but there are text panels inside the gallery to let you know more about the artist(s) and their work, and our staff are happy to have a chat about the exhibition if you want to know more. Information is also available on our website here.
It is mandatory to wear a mask in our gallery at all times.
If you’re coming to watch a film, we encourage you to book online in advance. If this is not possible, a member of our team can help you at our Information desk. We can no longer take cash for cinema tickets so please use contactless payment.
At present, it is not possible to book a wheelchair space online for our cinemas. We are working on fixing this and ask, in the meantime, that you please call our Information Desk on 029 2031 1050. We apologise for any inconvenience this might cause.
When you book online you will be sent an e-ticket with a QR code. Please bring this with you on your phone, or print the ticket at home ahead of your visit.
We now have self-scanning ticket machines at the entrance to both cinemas. You must scan your ticket at the cinema door.
Your ticket includes the row and number of your allocated seat. It’s really important that you sit in the correct seat in order that we can ensure safe distancing between all of our visitors. For your comfort and safety, we’ve taken out seats to create more access aisles and we’ve masked off rows of seats that are not in use.
It is mandatory to wear a mask in our cinemas at all times.
If you’ve hired a space for a workshop, class, meeting or rehearsal you will need to register at reception for Track and Trace. You must register each day of your hire.
A member of our team will show you to the space where you will be responsible to register the details of all of
your attendees for Track and Trace purposes. By law, you will need to keep these records for 21 days.
If you have hired a space upstairs, please follow the directional arrows and stay left on stairs and in corridors.
LEAVING THE BUILDING
You’ll need to leave the building via the front doors. There are two exits to the left and right of the automated entrance that you came through on arrival.
