ART IN THE BAR: The Printed Peoples Print Space

ART IN THE BAR: The Printed Peoples Print Space

This exhibition is a celebration of printmaking, Cardiff and the community, as part of Printed Festival, The Printhaus engaged directly with the people of Cardiff and give them a crash course in a handful of printmaking techniques.

The Printed Peoples Print Space shows the accessibility of these processes and helps propagate creativity in the community with this exhibition as a focal point for different communities coming together.

This exhibition is formed from different community groups working in different disciplines such as :

  • Drypoint with Bill Chambers at Cathays Community Centre
  • Lino printing with Print Wagon (Aidan Saunders) at Grange Pavilion
  • Rubber Stamping with ZEEL at South Riverside Community Development Centre
  • Letterpress with Nigel Draper of Amplifier Press at Taff Housing Association
  • Natural dyeing with Zoe Evans from ‘Prints by Nature’
  • We also teamed up with Cardiff Met University to deliver a risograph workshop with Ukrainian students.

The exhibition isn’t an end product but a starting point, a foundation to build a creative space that brings everyone together.
