The / / Triple—Double / / is the hardest gymnastic skill that only Simone Biles is able to perform in women's gymnastics.
The performer Luis Amália will attempt a version of it, as part of EXPERIMENTICA.
In a multi-layered digital experience merging live performance, archive footage and animation, Triple—Double addresses topical matters about the pressure society puts on our bodies and opens the debate on mental health in sport.
You’ll see Luis embody Bette Davis and Blanche Dubois, while performing as a gymnast, and manifesting a queer soul in a sports broadcast.
It’s funny, it’s mad, it’s electrifying!
This project is an experiment in what theatre could become; expanding digital viewing possibilities, mixing forms, enhancing artistic collaborations and increasing access post COVID.
