Chapter is very pleased to be presenting new awards for the best short films by local filmmakers aged 13-18! All genres and styles are welcome, including fiction, non-fiction, animation and more.
The winners will receive gift voucher prizes and all shortlisted films will be shown at this special screening in Chapter Cinema 1.
Submissions will be divided into two age categories 13-15 and 16-18, and these are the prizes:
Best Short (Live Action) = £100 gift voucher
Best Short (Animation) = £100 gift voucher
Special Commendation = £50 gift voucher
Films will be judged on quality and skill, not budget or equipment!
These awards have been made possible by a donation from the Brainwave Trust, in memory of Ewart Parkinson OBE.
Ewart Parkinson was an engineer and Director of Environment and Planning for South Glamorgan County Council who steered through the pedestrianisation of Cardiff City centre and the development of the Bay. He was passionate about supporting creativity and inclusivity in Cardiff and Wales. Our goal with these awards is to encourage and support our next generation of filmmaking talent.
