Film From Scratch Workshop with Gritty Realism
Attributes
- Type Workshops
Age 15+
Come and have a go at scratch drawing directly onto 35mm celluloid and be part of an animation celebrating the history of film in Wales.
These workshops, run by Gritty Realism Productions in collaboration with Chapter Cinema, will introduce participants to the technique of direct animation to produce their own sequences for a film combining old cine clips and animation to highlight the work of the National Screen and Sound Archive in preserving Welsh film for future generations. Then see your work come to life on the big screen in Chapter in December.
This project is supported by The Arts Council of Wales.
About Chapter Cinema
We celebrate film in all its forms offering an enriched cinema experience showing laser projected as well as 35mm films.
Alongside new releases, we bring a range of festivals and curated seasons, with talks, Q&As and events to inspire creativity, and ensure that we all have a deeper understanding of the filmmaking process and insight into the thriving film industry here in Wales.
We’re proud to be the lead organisation for Film Hub Wales, one of eight around the UK, formed as part of the British Film Institute: Film Audience Network. Through Film Hub Wales, we bring more films, to more people, in more places across the country.
