Kôki Maeda, Oshiro Maeda
Nozomi and Kenji are a couple with two young sons and their lives together are drifting apart. Nozomi takes quiet and withdrawn Koichi to temporarily live with her in the countryside, whilst Ryu stays with his father in the city. As time goes on it seems like this situation is going to be permanent, and the brothers begin to hatch a plan that involves a legend they have heard of a magical energy where the tramlines intersect. A perfectly performed, bittersweet modern family story.
“With its delicacy and complexity… I Wish is the deeply satisfying work of a director who just keeps on getting better.” The Guardian
