Czechoslovakian single mother Selma emigrates to America believing it’s her only hope for a better life for herself and her son. She loves musicals and watches them often with close work friend Kathy, the only person who knows Selma is suffering from a degenerative eye disease that will eventually blind her. As her son will inherit the disease, Selma races against time to earn enough money for his surgery before her vision fails entirely...
