As the title suggests, this programme is guaranteed to raise a smile. Five charming, life-affirming stories of queer life and love, ranging from magical animation to heart-warming dramas and a romantic encounter between two human statues on the Southbank!

Cwch Deilen / Leaf Boat (Dir. Efa Blosse-Mason | 8mins)
A magical Welsh-language animated short film telling the story of Heledd and Celyn, who take to a boat made from a leaf and navigate the murky, undiscovered waters of entering a new relationship.

Silver and Gold (Dir. Jack Pulford | 11mins)
Two living statues meet on London's Southbank, but what begins as professional rivalry soon blossoms into romance.

Dragged Up (Dir. Laura Jane Tunbridge | 19mins)
Pressured by her beauty queen mum to become this year’s Queen of Sheppey, teenager Sarah feels as comfortable as a vegan in a sausage factory, but when new girl Scout moves in next door, she introduces Sarah to the wonderful world of Drag.

From A to Q (Dir. Emmalie El fadli | 19mins)
Alex wakes one morning from a dream in which she kisses Kayla, the only problem being that she happens to be Alex's best friend. Can Alex tell Kayla how she feels? And how will Kayla react if she does?

S.A.M. (Dir. Lloyd Eyre-Morgan | 16mins)

S.A.M. is the story of Sam and Sam, teenage boys who meet on the swings of their local playpark. It’s a heart-warming film that challenges perceptions about disability and sexuality, with endearing, authentic performances from its two young leads.
