Beverly Glenn-Copeland, is a black transgender septuagenarian (and musical genius) who finally finds his place in the world. A classically trained musician who wrote for Sesame Street and presented children’s TV, he made some recordings of fascinating folk-electronica albums back in 1986 then, in 2016 , received an unexpected email from a record collector in Japan who had picked up Keyboard Fantasies. Now signed to a major indie label, and sharing a timely message with the world, Glenn’s emergence from obscurity transpires as an intimate coming of age story that spins the pain and suffering of prejudice into rhythm, hope and joy.
“Ever since I first watched Keyboard Fantasies I've been carrying Beverly Glenn-Copeland in my heart… His generosity of spirit seeps into his music, and the documentary does an excellent job showcasing the person behind the album.” Jasmyne Keimig, The Stranger
