Mank (12A)

Fri 27 November - Thu 3 December
,

Gary Oldman, Charles Dance, Amanda Seyfried, Tom Burke, Tuppence Middleton, Lily Collins
A satirical writer with a slick style, Herman J. Mankiewicz was called the “funniest man in New York” before his talents moved him to Hollywood where he worked his magic on scripts that defined an era. Whilst out West he became friends with both the powerful William Randolph Hearst and young impresario Orson Welles. This stylish look at Hollywood, re-evaluated through the scathing wit of Mank as he races to finish the screenplay of Citizen Kane, descending further into alcoholism and risking his place amongst the elite.
