Liz, mother of three, runs the local youth opera out of Carmarthen’s Lyric Theatre. However, her old classmate, now turned Mayor, Tom has plans to line his and his friends’ pockets by tearing down the community art space and turning it into a shopping centre. With the help of her old drama teacher, her friends and family and a little known director called Stephen Spielberg, Liz mounts a campaign to save the building and the cinema.
