Jane (Judy Garland) is a small town farmer down on her luck when her ne’er-do-well sister Abigale swings back into town with the theatre troupe she has joined. Needing the money, she allows the troupe leader Joe to convert the barn into a theatre over the summer. Garland’s swansong for MGM, this exuberant musical features the barnstorming finale and one of Judy’s signature songs Get Happy.
