In 1862 in the Irish Midlands 11-year old Anna stops eating but remains miraculously alive and well. Tourists and pilgrims flock to the small village to witness the child and English nurse Lib Wright Is brought to observe. Is the village harbouring a saint or are there more suspicious motives at work? A psychological thriller where two strangers transform each other’s lives, adapted by the acclaimed novel by Emma Donoghue and inspired by the 19th century phenomenon of the “fasting girls” with an incredible central performance from Florence Pugh.
