In an apartment in Paris we meet two people in their 80s who’ve led a fulfilling life together, full of love and intellectual pursuits. However, in their present they are living with Dementia and declining health which has made their son concerned for them and their well-being.
Writer-director Noé has shocked audiences at Cannes for a couple of decades with his depiction of sex, drugs and violence; but truly no-one expected a film of such elegiac, quiet power. Shot in split screen, with a loose and mobile camera, this is a film that digs into the reality of connection and deep love in older age.
