Cardiff Guitar Festival: Tutors Lunchtime Concert by Evangelos Nikolaidis & Oscar Watt

Oscar Watt is a Scottish classical guitarist and graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Born in Edinburgh, he has played music from an early age singing in local choirs and playing trumpet in orchestras. He started studying guitar with Jamie Parker at aged 10 and went on to study at the RWCMD under John Mills and Helen Sanderson.

During his time there, he had classes with several well-known guitarists and performed in concerts across Wales. Once graduated, Oscar accepted an invitation to teach with Cardiff Music School and continues there to this day. Oscar often performs in duos and groups including a performance with singer Jack Bowtell as part of last year's Cardiff Guitar Festival.

Evangelos Nikolaidis has studied classical guitar in the class of Iakovos Kolanian at the International Art Centre ' Atheneaum Conservatory ' in Athens. He continued his studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, following a Masters course on guitar performance with John Mills. He is also a graduate of the Music Department of the University of Athens.

Evangelos is an active performer, giving numerous concerts in the UK and abroad.

He also enjoys playing regular gigs as a Greek bouzouki player, singer, bass guitarist, percussionist or sound engineer.

Evangelos teaches guitar at Cardiff Music School and has been serving as Chairman of the South Wales Guitar Society since 2015.
