Fri 7 February
Newsoundwales presents an improvised performance from Ron Geesin with support from South Wales band CVC.
In February 1970, an all-day fundraiser was held at Sophia Gardens to raise funds for a new arts centre project. The gig featured some of the most exciting performers of their day - Quintessence, Trader Horne and an up-and-coming band called Pink Floyd.
That arts centre project became Chapter and it opened the following year. To mark the 50th anniversary of that legendary gig, Chapter is honoured to bring back Ron Geesin for a special improvised performance (piano, banjo, percussion, poems & stories). Ron and Pink Floyd were close collaborators and he helped compose the Atom Heart Mother suite as well as scoring numerous soundtracks.
