Attributes
- Duration 1h 30m
- Type Workshop
Join artist Kath Ashill for a relaxed discussion exploring the themes of Deborah Light’s new dance/theatre show: An Autopsy of a Mother, a Bear and a Fridge. No prior reading necessary!
In her new work, Deborah Light uncovers the connective tissue between a mother, a bear and fridge, to reveal her own vulnerability, anger, humour and strength. With cold clinical brutality, warm openness and hot feminist rage she exposes both personal experiences and patriarchal systems that place pressure on the female body.
For this reading group, Kath will share a range of cultural texts - films, music videos, essays, podcasts, songs - gathered in dialogue with Deborah. Texts might be highbrow, trashy, personal, or political, resulting in an informal and accessible space for rough ideas and responses to flow without judgement.
Attendees do not need to prepare for the session. All reading abilities are welcome.
Babes in arms are welcome (babies under 12 months).
Please note there will be content unsuitable for under 18s.
