Writer and teacher Iris finds her comfortable, solitary New York life thrown into disarray after her closest friend and mentor, Walter, dies suddenly and bequeaths her his beloved Great Dane, Apollo. The animal immediately creates practical problems for Iris, and complicates her life, but Apollo’s presence also means a constant reminder of Walter. As Iris finds herself unexpectedly bonding with the dog, she begins to come to terms with her past, her grief and her own creative future.
