Elizabeth Sparkle, former A-list actress whose star is fading, is suddenly fired from her fitness TV show by repellent studio head Harvey. Tipped off about a mysterious new drug The Substance she’ is drawn into a different world, one injection and she is reborn – temporarily – as a young, beautiful version of herself. Time is split, one week in one body, one week in the other but things begin to go very wrong. A career-best performance from Demi Moore dipping her toes into body horror in this gasp-inducing satire.
