About the artists
The Welsh Ballroom Community (WBC) has risen as a beacon of LGBTQ+ identity and ballroom culture in Wales since its creation during the 2020 lockdown. Founded by the visionary leadership of Leighton Rees Milan and UK Overseer Kyle London Tisci from The Impeccable Haus of Tisci. This collaboration has propelled WBC into a vibrant celebration of diversity, offering a safe, liberating platform for individuals from all walks of life to express themselves creatively.
With Ballroom Communities around the world, Cardiff has now become Wales’s first epicentre for Ballroom culture with a continuously growing and thriving community. Since its’ creation by Black and Latina Trans women, Ballroom culture has played an extremely important role in American LGBTQ+ communities especially with participants forming ‘houses’ that functioned as chosen family.
